The red planet Mars on Oct 6, 2020 – Al Paslow

Mars Opposition – On Oct 13, 2020 the red planet reached opposition, being just visible after sunset low in the south-eastern sky. This is a favorable one, with Mars being at its closest on October 6 of 38,569, 224 miles, achieving a maximum diameter of 22.56 arc-seconds.

The above image was captured with a CPC 11 Celestron using an ASI 224 camera and a red filter. An Orion shorty 2 X barlow was also used. The avi software was FireCapture, and processed in Auto Stakkert.
